2 Men, Out For Morning Walk, Killed After Being Hit By Car In Kerala: Cops

Two elderly people who were taking a morning stroll close to Peroorkada on Monday perished in a tragic accident. It is believed that the victims were struck by a car transporting pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh to Sabarimala.
According to the police, the two men, who were also close friends, were most likely walking back when they failed to notice the car approaching from behind.

They said that the incident happened at around 7.30 am.

It stated that after visiting the Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple here, the pilgrims from Sabarimala were heading back to their native state.

Five people, one of them a child, were in the car that struck the two morning walkers and then went into a tree.

They said that the two 69-year-old morning walkers were flung several meters away by the impact and were hidden from view from the road.

Both of the morning walkers had passed away by the time anyone realized they had been struck by the car and went to find them.

Injured in the collision as well, the child in the car is being treated in a hospital.

According to police, a case of negligent driving has been filed and two people have been placed under arrest.
