According to a formal statement released on Saturday (August 26), the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has installed suction-cum-jetting equipment on 35 of the city’s roads, including the Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Panchsheel Marg, and Mandir Marg, in preparation for the G20 Summit later this month, as reported by the news agency PTI.

The local authority reportedly gave the nodal officers instructions to ensure daily monitoring of the work being done on these 35 roadways. Daily reports would be submitted to the headquarters by the nodal officers.

Sachivalaya Road, Old Fort Road, Lodhi Road, Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Marg, Mahatma Gandhi Road (from Shanti Van to AIIMS and Shanti Van to Delhi University), Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Vivekananda Marg, Africa Avenue, and 13 Panchsheel Marg are among the 35 routes mentioned in the report.

In preparation for the forthcoming G20 Summit, which is slated to take place from September 9 to September 10, the MCD is working to spruce up and adorn the nation’s capital.
