Five men are accused of gang-raping a 13-year-old girl in Daporijo, Arunachal Pradesh, for five days.
Bali Kaji, Tapong Baring, Raju Lomdak, Jepu Leya, and Nanesh Nayam are the five accused individuals who have been placed under arrest and taken to judicial custody.
The girl’s brother allegedly filed a complaint with the police, claiming that on July 22, she was taken by force to one of the accused’s Daporijo residences and subjected to five days of gang rape.
In accordance with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the thirty-year-old accused was taken into custody.
The incident occurs in the midst of widespread indignation over the rape and killing of a female trainee
physician at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital when she was there for work. On August 9, the semi-naked body of the 31-year-old was discovered in the government-run hospital’s seminar hall.
