Troubles for airline customers in India appear to be never-ending. Following Vistara’s huge flight cancellations early last month, Air India Express cancelled more than 70 flights from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

The flights, both international and domestic, were cancelled after the airline’s senior crew members took a mass’sick leave’, according to ANI, citing sources.

The Civil Aviation Authority is looking into the incident. Responding to the flight cancellations, an Air India Express spokeswoman stated, “A segment of our cabin crew reported sick at the last minute, beginning last night, resulting in flight delays and cancellations. While we work with the crew to determine the causes of these incidents, our teams are aggressively resolving the issue to limit any disturbance to our visitors.

Seeking apologies for the inconvenience, the spokesman stated that travellers affected by the cancellations will either receive a full refund from the airline or be able to reschedule their journey at no additional cost.

Furthermore, the spokeswoman recommended travellers flying with the airline on Wednesday to contact the company before arriving at the airport.
