The creation of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission for the recruitment of teachers in the state’s higher, secondary, and primary education ministries was approved by the state government on Tuesday. A draught of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission Bill, 2023, was passed by the state cabinet on Tuesday.
The proposed Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission will conduct the hiring process for teachers in various institutions of higher education, secondary education, basic education, vocational education, minority welfare and waqf department, and labour department, according to the draught.
The administration said that by taking this action, the selection procedure for teachers would become more standard, transparent, and time-bound. There will be a chairperson and 12 members on the commission. The commission will be a regulated entity, and Prayagraj will serve as its administrative centre.
Other recruitment commissions, including the UP Higher Education Education Service Commission and the UP Secondary Education Service Selection Board, would be dissolved once the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission is operational.
The many teacher selection commissions and boards will be combined into the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission.
Yogi Adityanath, the state’s chief minister, ordered the creation of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission in April in order to hire teachers for the state’s numerous educational institutions.
At a meeting to assess the teacher hiring procedures used by various educational institutions, the CM approved the decision.
