Due to high demand, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer will now play in 70mm at US Imax theatres through the end of August. Due to the overwhelming interest in Imax, which had an original end date of August 17, the sale of these movie tickets has been extended through August 31.
Christopher Nolan stated that the best way to experience his movie Oppenheimer is in Imax 70mm format before it even hits theatres. Because “the sharpness, clarity, and depth of the image are unparalleled,” he claimed that viewing “Oppenheimer” provides the “best possible experience.” The AMC Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles and the AMC Lincoln Square in New York are two of just 19 US theatres (and 30 worldwide) that can show films in Imax 70mm.
Making a film in 70mm and the experience of it are difficult for beginners. An Imax film print takes three days to create, and each one is made entirely from Nolan’s film negative. Physical reels for “Oppenheimer,” a three-hour film, are 11 miles long and 600 pounds in weight.
The “father of the atomic bomb” J. Robert Oppenheimer is portrayed by Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. At the international box office, the movie has already brought in over $550 million.
