Nearly 300 students from the Delhi government’s Schools of Specialized Excellence qualified for JEE Advanced.

According to a statement issued by the Delhi government on Friday, 276 students from 12 Dr. BR Ambedkar Schools of Specialised Excellence (ASOSE) qualified for the JEE Advanced exam, out of 395 who took the JEE (Mains).

Four of these pupils received a 99.9 percentile, while 25 received a score higher than that. According to the statement, around 104 pupils scored more than the 95th percentile.

“Education Minister Atishi thanked all students, parents, and instructors for the outstanding success of ASOSE students. The minister stated it is the objective of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that students studying in Delhi government schools should enjoy every amenity (available to) children of large private schools,” according to the release.

Atishi stated that ASOSE offers world-class coaching and preparation to its pupils. As a result, today, youngsters from ordinary households and underprivileged families are realising their goals of becoming engineers and attending IITs.

“I hope our pupils continue to attain success. And with their hard effort and the supervision of their instructors, they will do exceptionally well in the JEE Advanced test,” she said.

According to data provided by the Delhi government, 104 students qualified for JEE Advanced last year, while 720 students from Delhi government institutions passed JEE Mains. In 2020, 2021, and 2022, as many as 443, 384, and 493 Delhi government school students qualified for JEE Mains. Of them, 53, 64, and 72 students qualified for the JEE Advanced in the same years.

The JEE (Advanced) 2024 test will take place on May 26.
