Swati Maliwal, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP, campaigned on Friday for the party’s Lok Sabha candidate from East Delhi, Kuldeep Kumar.
Maliwal was one of the MPs who came under scrutiny from BJP leaders for allegedly breaking connections with the AAP following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 21. Maliwal, on the other hand, stated that she was in the United States for medical care for her sister and that she would leave as soon as she returned.
She took part in a ‘padyatra’ and door-to-door campaign in the Vivek Vihar region of the Shahdara assembly seat alongside Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel.
During the campaign, Maliwal, who had chaired the Delhi Commission for Women for over a decade, met with women. She explained their difficulties and encouraged them to vote in huge numbers.
“My family lives in the United States, and I was there because of an emergency. Now I’m back and will be pushing for AAP. “I will interact with women and girls and encourage them to exercise their right to vote,” she stated.
