On July 4, a fifteen-year-old bridge across the Gandaki River collapsed in the Saran region of Bihar, according to India Today. Aman Samir, the District Magistrate, claims that this is the third bridge collapse in Saran in a span of 24 hours.

Details indicate that at least 12 bridges have fallen in Bihar in the last 17 days. even if there haven’t been any confirmed casualties yet. the bridge that once connected Saran villages to the nearby Siwan area.The collapse of the new bridge occurred one day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar issued an order to assess all of the state’s older bridges in order to determine which ones required immediate repair.

In Bihar, a bridge fell earlier in the day, the tenth such event in the state in less than two weeks. Two more bridge failures in the previous 24 hours were observed in Saran, where the most recent occurrence was recorded.In order to determine whether bridges should be reinforced or demolished in light of the structural audit’s results, a PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court asking for the Bihar government to follow its orders.

Brajesh Singh, an advocate and petitioner, filed it, expressing worries about the durability and safety of the state’s bridges.Two tiny bridges in the Saran district collapsed on Wednesday; one was in the Lahladpur area and the other in the Janta Bazar region.

The DM declared, “A high-level investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the collapse of these small bridges in the district.
