A Shiv Sena MLA has been under fire for his sexist remarks directed towards Uddhav Thackeray-led party member Priyanka Chaturvedi, a Rajya Sabha member.
According to Sanjay Shirsat, a member of the Eknath Shinde-led party, Ms. Chaturvedi was appointed to the Rajya Sabha by Aaditya Thackeray because of her beauty. Former Uddhav Thackeray group MP Chandrakant Khaire, according to Mr. Shirsat, had informed him of this.
Slamming Ms. Chaturvedi referred to Mr. Shirsat as a traitor who had sold his soul and morality.
She tweeted, “I don’t need a traitor to tell me what I look like and why I’m here. She said, “Shirsat has shown his sick views on politics and women.”
According to Aaditya Thackeray, Shirsat has a rotten mentality and is aware of his value. He remarked, “I don’t know how people with such a nasty worldview have managed to stay in politics.
Priyanka Chaturvedi left the Congress in 2019 where she was a national spokesperson before joining the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena.
