Who Is Mohan Majhi: Four-Time MLA, Now Becoming Odisha’s First BJP Chief Minister

Odisha: A very new face has been chosen for the Chief Minister post of Odisha – four time MLA and the party racial person Mohan Charan Manjhi. The new Chief Minister of Odisha in BJP. The party also picked KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida to be the deputy chief minister.

PM Narendra Modi is going to have a roadshow in Bhubaneswar on his way to the venue of the oath ceremony, the Janata Maidan. The Prime Minister may attend the oath ceremony of Mohan Manjhi with the former Chief Minister Naveen Maidan.

Mr. Manjhi, a four-time MLA from Keonjhar, is an experienced politician very closely, and his organizational skills worked in his favor in the race for the top post, sources indicate. The chief whip of the BJP in the previous assembly, he was the youngest of the pacemakers.

When the BJP and the Biju Janata Dal were in alliance, Mr Deo, a six-time MLA from Patna, was Minister in Naveen Patnaik Government for nine years till 2009.

Pravati Parida, a first-time MLA, have been in the party for 28 years. She was the Chief of the state BJP women’s wing(2016-2022) and the state vice president( 2022-2024).

The Odisha state had reposed faith in the BJP, giving the 78 seats from 147 assembly seats. The BJP won 51 seats.

The BJP legislature party selected some names of upcoming ministers under the eyes of Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Bhupendra Yadav. The key leaders and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Jual Oram attended the meeting held at the state in Bhubaneshwar.

Tight security arrangements has been made in the Oath ceremony function, and expected to attend the function by all the ministers of BJP including the Union minister.

Mr Mohan Majhi was handling the village between 1997 and 2000 and was general secretary of Odisha before being selected as an MLA from Keonjhar in 2000.
