‘Not a word against nawabs, nizams…’: Narendra Modi’s ‘Aurangzeb’ attack on Rahul Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged during a rally in Karnataka’s Belagavi on Sunday that Congress stalwart Rahul Gandhi had accused “kings of India” of crimes but never spoken a word against the “nawabs, nizams, sultans, and badshahs.” PM Modi went on to say that Gandhi and the Congress had never condemned Mughal monarch Aurangzeb, who demolished Hindu shrines.

“Shehzada of Congress claims that the Indian monarchs were awful. They took the poor’s assets as they wished. Congress’s Shehzada has attacked great figures such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rani Chinamma, whose exemplary governance and patriotism continue to inspire us. Does the Shehzada not recognise the Mysuru Royal family’s contribution, which we are all proud of?” PM Narendra Modi stated.

Rahul Gandhi allegedly stated during a recent rally in Karnataka that “kings and rulers” used to steal people’s land, and that the Congress was responsible for putting an end to this by bringing independence, democracy, and the Constitution into action.

PM Modi said the “Shehzada of the Congress” made the comment to please the party’s vote bank.

“But the Shehzada does not mention the atrocities done by the nawabs, nizams, sultans, and badshahs… Congress does not recall Aurangzeb’s crimes, which demolished hundreds of our temples. Congress creates political partnerships with parties that glorify Aurangzeb. They do not mention all of those who damaged our pilgrimage sites, robbed them, murdered our people, and slaughtered animals,” he continued.

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Raja of Banaras helped establish the Banaras Hindu University. He said that it was the Maharaja of Baroda who recognised BR Ambedkar’s brilliance.

PM Modi stated that since the Congress formed the government in Karnataka, the state’s law and order situation has deteriorated.

He claimed that the Congress has begun to feel ashamed of India’s successes.

He further said that the Supreme Court’s VVPAT-EVM decision was a direct slap in the face of Congress. He alleged the party had misled about EVM manipulation.

He asked that the party apologise to the country for attempting to undermine its democracy.

Rahul Gandhi has stated, “It was the rule of the Kings and Maharajas; they could do whatever they wanted.” “If they wanted someone’s land, they would take it.”

He subsequently stated that Congress workers assisted the people of the country in achieving independence, establishing democracy, and changing the country’s Constitution.

Amit Malviya, BJP leader, claimed Rahul Gandhi’s comment was an insult to the Rajput people and demanded an apology.
