‘Who is Rahul Gandhi?’ BJP’s Tejasvi Surya blasts Congress lawmaker for accepting invitation to debate with PM Modi.

Tejasvi Surya

Tejasvi Surya, a BJP member, objected harshly on social media to Rahul Gandhi’s call for a public discussion on the Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi, representing the Congress, has already stated his readiness to participate in a discussion on May 11.

“It would be a good idea for the main parties to convey their vision for a healthy democracy to the people on a single platform. Congress supports this initiative and accepts the invitation to a discussion. The country also wants the Prime Minister to participate in this debate,” Gandhi said on X.
Surya reacted on social media in response to Gandhi’s willingness to debate Prime Minister Narendra Modi, challenging Gandhi’s standing to do so.

The BJP promptly questioned Gandhi’s position, implying that he had not received formal endorsement from his own party as prime ministerial candidate, adding another layer of complication to the pre-election politics. This back-and-forth illustrates not just a conflict of political strategy, but also highlights the tremendous scrutiny that both major parties face as the elections approach.
