In relation to the Georgia election, Trump claims he will be detained on Thursday.

In order to answer charges of interfering with an election, Donald Trump has stated that he intends to present himself to a Georgian court on Thursday.

The bail amount for the former president has been set at $200,000 (£157,000) by the Atlanta judge in charge of his case. According to the deal, Mr. Trump may remain unhindered until his trial as long as he doesn’t try to intimidate or threaten any witnesses.

Among the 13 accusations against Mr. Trump are racketeering and making false statements. The court document that was made public on Monday states that the defendant “shall not perform any act to intimidate any person known to him or her to be a co-defendant or witness in this case or to otherwise obstruct the administration of justice.”

The order continues, “The foregoing shall include, but not be limited to, posts on social media or reposts of posts made by another person on social media.”

The document was signed by Mr. Trump’s attorneys and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is in charge of the case.

Later on Monday, Mr. Trump wrote on his Truth Social social media page: “Can you believe it? On Thursday, I’ll travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to be ARRESTED by Fani Willis, a radical left district attorney.

He said, “She campaigned and is still campaigning and raising money on this WITCH HUNT. “This is strictly coordinated with the corrupt Joe Biden Justice Department.”

He said that the bond requirements show the district attorney must have assumed he would try to depart the country.

He jokingly penned, “Would I be able to take my very ‘understated’ aeroplane with the gold TRUMP affixed for all to see.”

“Probably not, flying commercial would be much better for me – I’m sure nobody would recognise me!” Ms. Willis has requested that the judge set the arraignment date for September 5 so that a defendant can enter a plea of guilty or not guilty after being formally charged.

She also suggested starting the experiment in March.

On Monday morning, Mr Trump’s solicitors were spotted visiting the Fulton County court in Atlanta.

They reportedly went there to meet with investigators and discuss the conditions of the bail bond.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has stated that the area around the county jail will be placed under “hard lockdown” when Mr. Trump does submit.

Before Mr. Trump is expected to give himself up this week, barricades have been put up outside the court.

The barricades will be in place until Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office’s announcement on Monday. The 19 suspects have till Friday at noon local time to surrender for processing.

Following his loss to Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, Mr. Trump and his co-defendants were charged last week with trying to sway the Georgia electorate by interfering with the state’s election results.

During a phone chat, the former president reportedly urged Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes” during the vote tally.

He faces three additional criminal prosecutions and is the first US president to ever have been indicted while in office.

Mr. Trump has consistently denied any misconduct and claims the accusations are made for political reasons.

He is now in the lead in the Republican primary to select its next nominee for president, who would face the Democratic nominee in the 2024 presidential election, most likely Joe Biden.

Trump has already declared he won’t watch the opening Republican televised debate on Wednesday night.

On Sunday, Mr. Trump stated on Truth Social, “The people understands who I am and what a successful Presidency I had. “I won’t be participating in the debates as a result.”

Trump has reportedly recorded an interview with former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, according to sources close to him.

Republican voters will select their party’s nominee in state-by-state primaries, which will start on January 15, 2024.
