The release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has run into an unexpected setback in southern markets, with several theatres cancelling non-Hindi shows at the last minute, leaving audiences frustrated.
While the film has started rolling out paid previews in some parts of the country, moviegoers in Tamil Nadu and other southern regions were disappointed after discovering that Tamil, Telugu, and other dubbed versions were unavailable.
According to trade analysts, the issue stems from the incomplete readiness of the dubbed versions. While the Hindi version of the film — including visuals and sound design — has been finalised and delivered, the regional versions are still undergoing last-minute technical work such as sound corrections and edits.
As a result, only the Hindi version, and that too without subtitles, has been dispatched to digital content providers for screenings during the initial preview phase.
Theatre owners, particularly in Chennai, confirmed that they did not receive the Tamil version in time, forcing them to cancel scheduled shows. Several cinema chains issued public apologies to audiences for the inconvenience caused.
The unexpected delay has created confusion among fans who had already booked tickets for the regional versions, highlighting the importance of timely content delivery in multi-language film releases.
