With Dream Girl 2’s “rock solid” 40 crore weekend box office performance, the Hindi film industry just enjoyed another successful weekend, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The movie, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday in the key parts, earned 16 crore on Sunday and will now go to the test on Monday. Raksha Bandhan comes on Wednesday, so ticket sales should increase. Dream Girl 2 also has another weekend to build momentum because the next major movie, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, won’t come out for another two Fridays.
Dream Girl 2 has a strong debut weekend. Beyond metros/urban areas, the massy flavour has helped it succeed. Most importantly, Dream Girl 2 is in a good position thanks to her growth on Days 2 and 3. Ayushmann Khurrana is a jagrata performer in Dream Girl 2 who must use deception as his female alter ego Pooja in order to make a quick money. His desire is to wed Ananya Panday, who plays the role of his love interest. Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav are among the cast members.
