How Mumbai Police Tracked Down Man Who Threatened Ratan Tata

An MBA graduate who allegedly threatened veteran industrialist and former Tata Sons chairman Ratan Tata over the phone was located, according to Mumbai Police.
The police claimed to have discovered that the anonymous caller suffers from schizophrenia during the course of their investigation.

According to a Mumbai Police officer, the caller requested that Ratan Tata’s security be increased. If this wasn’t done, the industry titan threatened to suffer the same fate as former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry.

On September 4, 2022, Mistry, a well-known industrialist as well, passed away in a vehicle accident.

When Mumbai Police received the call, they went into full alert mode. One team was tasked with protecting Ratan Tata’s personal safety, while the other team was asked to gather information about the caller.

The caller was located, according to the police, with the assistance of a telecom service provider and technical support.

The caller was discovered to be a resident of Pune and that his location was in Karnataka, according to the police.

When the police arrived at his Pune home, they discovered that the caller had not been seen for the previous five days and that his wife had even lodged a complaint at the city’s Bhosari police station.

The caller had schizophrenia, and the sleuths discovered after questioning his relatives that he had taken the phone from someone’s house without telling them.

According to the detectives, he threatened Ratan Tata over the phone with the Mumbai Police control room.

The police officer stated that they had chosen not to file a lawsuit against the caller because it was discovered that he was suffering from schizophrenia.

The caller has an MBA in finance and studied engineering, the sleuths discovered.
