Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has reportedly been summoned by the Maharashtra cyber cell about the purported advertising of watching IPL matches on a spinoff app of the Mahadev online gambling and betting programme, officials announced on Thursday.

According to a top police source, the actor has been asked to appear before the Maharashtra cyber personnel on April 29.

According to him, Bhatia was called in by the Maharashtra cyber cell for allegedly encouraging people to watch Indian Premier League (IPL) games on the Fairplay betting app.

In 2023, officials claimed that several IPL matches were illegally streamed via the app, citing a complaint to support their claim.

An official stated that the star has been invited to record her statement as a witness in the case.

He claimed that the statements of singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez in the case have already been recorded by the Maharashtra cyber cell.

Numerous investigative organisations are looking into the Mahadev app due to claims of fraudulent transactions and gambling.
