Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP, plans to run in the 2019 Lok Sabha election from the Rae Bareli constituency, which was formerly held by his mother, Sonia Gandhi. This decision follows Rahul Gandhi’s tenure in the Wayanad constituency and his previous defeat in Amethi. Union Minister Giriraj Singh commented on the situation on Friday, saying: “Just as Bahadur Shah Zafar was the last emperor of the Mughal Sultanate, Raebareli is the same for the Gandhi family.”
“The Gandhi family never returns to the seat from which it loses. Rahul Gandhi lost Amethi and then left it. This time, if he loses Raebareli, he will depart. Raebareli is the same as the last ruler of the Mughal Sultanate, Bahadur Shah Zafar Giriraj Singh, Union Minister, informed media about the Gandhi family.
Rahul Gandhi accepted his defeat in Amethi before fleeing to Wayanad, according to BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
“Rahul Gandhi is losing in Wayanad, which is why he is running for Raebareli. He had previously accepted defeat from Amethi, but now he is fleeing Wayanad. “The situation is such that no one from Congress wants to contest Amethi, which was the party’s traditional seat,” Sirsa was cited as saying by ANI.
“Rahul Gandhi will also have to leave Raebareli, and people will give him a befitting reply, he will be defeated in Raebareli too,” he went on to say.
