Delhi Man Stabbed To Death, Had Threatened Accused To Return Friend’s Money

A 26-year-old man, Himanshu, was stabbed to death in his apartment in Delhi’s Narela area on Friday due to an alleged financial dispute. Himanshu had been residing with his friend, Sumit Kaushik, at the time of the incident, according to officials.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ravi, one of the accused, had borrowed ₹45,000 from Sumit but failed to repay it. Himanshu had visited Ravi’s house in Safiyabad earlier and allegedly warned his family of “consequences” if the money was not returned.

Hours later, Ravi, along with three accomplices, arrived at Himanshu’s residence around 6 PM and stabbed him. They fled the scene immediately after the attack.

“A PCR call reporting the incident was received at 6:28 PM. Initial findings indicate that Himanshu was attacked by four individuals,” a senior police official stated.

Himanshu had been living with Sumit for the past four months, officials noted.

Three suspects—Ravi (30), Sahil (24), and Ashish (26)—have been arrested, while the fourth accused, Akshay Khatri, remains on the run. A case of murder has been registered, and the suspects are being questioned, officials confirmed.

“The motive behind the murder appears to be a financial dispute,” the police added.

The incident has sparked criticism from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal, who condemned the rising crime rates in Delhi.

“Another tragic murder. Delhi is bleeding, and the BJP-led government at the Centre remains passive. How long will Delhi’s citizens endure such conditions?” he wrote in a post on X.
