CBSE signs 15 MOUs for teachers’ training, skill development

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has partnered with famous skill providers to sign 15 Memoranda of Understandings (MoU) in order to promote skill education, evaluation, and teacher capacity building. The board officially announced its cooperation with other organizations to advance skill education, assessment, and capacity building of teachers on Sunday.

This contract was signed in accordance with NEP 2020, the National Education Policy. NEP “emphasizes better business and academic cooperation. The curriculum must be in line with what the industry requires and should allow for student internships and apprenticeships to encourage exposure to the field. The ability of teachers to provide the necessary results must also be updated, according to a notification from the CBSE.

Some of the prominent partners include Atal Innovation Mission, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council, Sports, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council etc. The sector skill councils will help in preparation of skill modules, study material for skill subjects at different levels, organising competitions/ hackathons for students and training of teachers.

According to a press release from the CBSE, these skill providers will offer the brand various forms of support. They will aid in the creation of skill modules and study guides for related subjects. Additionally, they will plan student contests and hackathons, as well as train teachers. The Central Square foundation (CSF), which will help CBSE implement SAFAL, a competency-based census evaluation, as suggested in the NEP, is another key relationship. For children in grades 3, 5, and 8, SAFAL will be held to support school development. The collaboration of the partners will result in high-quality competency-based tests for these grades.

The National Curriculum Framework Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) Capacity Building Program (CBP) will be developed by Educational Initiatives Pvt. Ltd. and Oxford University Press India, according to a statement from the CBSE. “Training Manuals will be developed by Educational Initiatives Pvt. Ltd. and Oxford University Press India on the development of Competency Based Capacity Building Programme (CBP) for teachers in English, Maths, Science, and Social Science, Updating of Existing CBP.
