After appearing in the 2015 television series Quantico, Priyanka Chopra gained notoriety in Hollywood. However, long before that, PC appeared in a few music videos while attempting to gain recognition as a major international music performer. PC tried to show off her singing ability with songs like “In My City” and “Exotic,” but she ultimately turned her attention to her acting career in the West. In a recent interview, Priyanka discussed her decision to move to the West despite being one of the best Hindi film actors.

The Citadel actress revealed that she felt “cornered” in Bollywood while speaking with Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert. She was up against some resistance because she was being passed over for movie roles and because she had “beef” with some industry insiders. Anjula Acharia, her boss, stepped in to save her at that point. Acharia contacted her after spotting her in a music video to inquire about her interest in pursuing a music career in the US.

Since she was trying to find methods to get away from Bollywood, Priyanka revealed that she seized the chance with both hands. She shared, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”

She added, “This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require groveling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it.”

Priyanka previously discussed in an interview how there was a period when individuals in the Indian film industry did their best to prevent her from working. During her appearance on The Ranveer Show, she said, “I have had people wanting to jeopardize my career, take away from my work, and make sure I wasn’t cast just because I was doing well in what I was doing.”

The long-awaited Citadel television series from the Russo Brothers excites Priyanka Chopra. Alongside Richard Madden, she plays an agent in the movie. As of April 28, the episodes will be available on Prime Video. With Jee Le Zara, directed by Farhan Akhtar and featuring Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, the actor is anticipated to make a comeback to Hindi films.
