Rashmika Mandanna’s birthday video appears to have been shot at the same place that Vijay Deverakonda had previously been seen at, which was enough to convince eagle-eyed fans of the rumored celebrity couple. They interpreted this as evidence that the two are still living together and, consequently, courting. Rashmika responded on Twitter after images of her and Vijay appeared online, presumably taken at the same location.
She wrote, “Aiyoooo.. don’t overthink it babu..,” without verifying or rejecting the rumors that she and Vijay are living together and that she was sporting his “favorite ring” in her video. Earlier, there was widespread internet sharing of images that served as “proof” that they shared her birthday. Later, it was found that the location was Vijay’s house, which was visible in earlier recordings that both he and his brother, Anand Deverakonda, had uploaded.
Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have been the subject of relationship speculation previously. They earlier sparked rumours when they were seen taking a jet to the Maldives a few months ago. They then posted photos from their trip, taking care not to include each other in their posts.
In an interview with News18 last year, Rashmika was asked about the rumors, and she said, “I understand that we are actors and the light is on us, with people wanting to know more about it. I see what is happening on social media, like watching a few videos and finding it very cute, but Vijay and I don’t really sit and discuss. We have a gang of 15 people and given a chance, we would be playing board games with them. We are actors, but for us, our friends are equally important and it keeps us grounded.”
Vijay Deverakonda was also asked about the rumors during a group interview ahead of the release of his film Liger last year. “I’d rather be who I am and have these rumors written about me than be a nobody and have nothing written about me. So I’m ok with the not necessarily true stuff, or not necessarily productive stuff. I’m comfortable with it, it does not bother me,” he said.
