Four deaths have been reported in a shooting that occurred within the Bathinda military station in Punjab early this morning. The area has been blocked off, and quick response teams are searching, according to a statement from the Army’s South Western Command.
“A shooting incident was reported within Bathinda Military Station in the early morning at 04:35. Quick Reaction Teams for each station were activated. The area was blocked off and fenced off. Search operations are now underway. Four fatal injuries reported. Additional information is being gathered, according to the Army statement.
An Insas rifle and 28 rounds of ammunition, according to the Army, went missing two days ago. The shooting allegedly took place inside the officers’ mess, according to sources.
According to Bathinda’s Senior Superintendent of Police GS Khurana, the Army has not yet given permission for a police team to enter the military station, but a police team is already waiting outside.
The military station’s four gates, according to the police, have all been closed.
