According to the authorities, on thursday night in Mumbai, two groups got into a fight during Ram Navami procession, An official reported that the incident happened at Malvani in the suburb of Malad (West), where some people protested to the procession’s loud music and high-volume DJ.

Some of the participants alleged stone pelting, which created panic among people, he said. However, police did not confirm the stone pelting incident. Additional police personnel were called to the spot and force was used to disperse the crowd, he said.

The official declared that things were under control in the region. Senior police officers and local politicians made peace appeals while visiting the region. Later, supporters of a right-wing group assembled in front of the Malvani Police Station and demanded that those who are accused of throwing stones be brought to justice.
