Pezhman Shoghi’s life is a powerful testament to passion, persistence, and tenacity. Born in Iran, raised in India, and now settled in Norway, she has faced life’s adversities with unshakable resolve.
Her life turned dramatically when, when only 10, her family had to leave before the Iranian revolution 1975 and could not return back because of the revolution 1979 and the religion Bahai. They became refugees in India, with no knowledge of Hindi or English. Yet, through sheer determination, she mastered multiple languages and excelled academically. Her journey was fraught with financial hardships, but she never gave up.
After personal and financial setbacks, including becoming a refugee once again in Norway in 2001, Pezhman worked tirelessly—taking on cleaning jobs, care work, and teaching while studying at night to master Norwegian. Her perseverance led her to become the first overseas refugee to secure a teaching position in a Norwegian government school.

Her passion for education took her further, earning a master’s degree in Assessment and Evaluation from York, England, and contributing to international projects like the European Language Portfolio. Beyond academics, she served as a Lay Judge, co-authored an English textbook for adult immigrants, and represented the Indian government in Norway, promoting handloom and handicrafts.
In 2007, she battled depression, overcoming suicidal tendencies with the support of her children and doctors. Choosing early retirement to focus on well-being, she embraced her passion for drama and is now emerging as a recognized actor and international personality.
Pezhman Shoghi’s story is one of reinvention and relentless pursuit of dreams, inspiring countless individuals worldwide.
