“Nothing But…”: Mamata Banerjee After Nephew’s Wife Stopped At Airport

Rujira Banerjee, a member of the Trinamool Congress and the subject of an investigation in connection with a coal case, was denied boarding of an overseas flight yesterday at the airport in Kolkata.

The organisation also called her at the airport.

Rujira Banerjee was prevented from leaving the nation after telling the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of her travel plans, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee have criticised the BJP for this.

“What the ED and CBI are doing is regrettable. They are bothering individuals. Because Abhishek Banerjee’s mother-in-law is ill, her wife was on the road to see her mother. The Supreme Court had ruled that she could notify the ED and leave the city if she needed to, and she did so well in advance. However, calling her at the airport itself is harassment, according to Mamata Banerjee.

According to Abhishek Banerjee, the ED was informed of his wife’s trip schedule out of courtesy. He claimed, “If I had malicious intentions, I wouldn’t have told them.”

The TMC asserts that Abhishek Banerjee’s statewide yatra and the “Trinamoole Nabo Jowar campaign” have alarmed the BJP. You’ve seen that the opposition party has been trying to sabotage our Trinamoole Nabo Jowar yatra ever since it started, and they’re looking for methods to annoy us and make sure I’m confused. According to Mr. Banerjee, I would advise them against continuing in this direction.

“I will not bow down my head even if ED arrests my wife, my children, or me,” he declared, addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With all due respect to the Prime Minister’s chair, I would like to point out that he is nearly twice my age. You and I might have similar political backgrounds. You can’t challenge me politically in the court of the people, though.

In response to Abhishek’s accusations, the BJP said that the ED is an independent organisation.

“Neither the CBI nor the ED are affiliated with the BJP. The accusations are without merit. According to BJP leader Rahul Sinha, if they have any objections, they can always go to court.
