Probe Agency NIA Conducts Nationwide Raids In Human Trafficking Cases

According to officials, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended a person from Myanmar in Jammu on Wednesday as part of nationwide raids to apprehend people engaged in human trafficking.
According to an NIA spokesman, the raids, which are taking place in eight states and two Union Territories, are related to cases of human trafficking.

According to the official, searches were conducted in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry, as well as in Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

According to a Jammu official, a Rohingya Muslim from Myanmar was taken into custody during a raid in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the official, Zaffar Alam was arrested at around two in the morning from his makeshift home in Jammu’s Bathindi neighborhood, while another accused person is still at large.

According to the official in Jammu, the raids were limited to impoverished neighborhoods that housed immigrants from Myanmar and were carried out in regard to a case involving human trafficking and violations of the Passports Act.
