Kullu, Himachal Pradesh: Cloudburst Causes 1 Death And 3 Injuries

Early on Monday, a cloudburst struck the Kullu area of Himachal Pradesh, killing one man and injuring three others, according to officials.
According to the state emergency response center, the cloudburst happened about 3:55 am close to the village of Kayas in Kullu, washing away vehicles and obstructing a road.

They added that two of the injured are in a bad condition and named the victim as Badal Sharma, a native of the Kullu village of Chansari.

The emergency scenario was quickly addressed by local officials, who also reported that machinery had been sent to clear the roadblock impeding rescue efforts.

On Monday, the local MeT Office had issued an orange notice indicating that there will be isolated areas of heavy to extremely heavy rain.

According to the state emergency response center, 118 people have already perished in rain-related incidents and traffic accidents in the state since the start of the monsoon on June 24.There has been a $4,415 billion loss for the state.
