Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Thursday that all government offices will remain closed on January 22 till 2:30 pm, given the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Chief Minister Sai told ANI, “All government offices will remain closed till 2:30 pm on January 22 given the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The purpose behind this is that all the people can see the programme and participate in it…”

Meanwhile, the idol of Lord Ram was placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple in Ram Temple, Ayodhya, on Thursday.

The idol’s first picture, which was concealed by a veil, was made public on Thursday during the sanctum sanctorum placement ceremony.

Sharad Sharma, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s media coordinator, shared the images.

Inside the hallowed confines of the Sri Ram Temple, venerated Acharyas and Brahmins led worship rituals.

Members of the Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra reportedly took part in the prayers as well, according to the VHP.

Renowned Karnataka sculptor Arun Yogiraj created the idol of “Ram Lalla.” The idol weighs 1.5 tonnes and stands 51 inches tall. The idol, which is made of the same stone, shows Lord Ram as a five-year-old boy standing atop a lotus.

On January 22, Ayodhya will host the Pran Pratishta ceremony. The primary ceremonies for the “Pran Pratishtha” will be carried out by a group of priests under the direction of Lakshmikant Dixit, although Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also participate in them.

A number of well-known figures and celebrities have also been invited to the ceremony.

Ayodhya will host the Amrit Mahotsav from January 14 to January 22.
