The Communist Party of India (CPI) organised a major rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan against the policies of the Central Government. The rally witnessed participation from party workers and representatives from across the country, along with members of the general public.
Speaking at the rally, Comrade Jagdish Kuliyal, State Secretary of the Communist Party of India, Uttarakhand, launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Central Government, alleging that its policies favour a few selected corporate groups. He alleged that the BJP-led government at the Centre is running a “fascist regime” and that poor people across the country are being deprived of their fundamental rights. He further accused the government of corporatising public sector undertakings and claimed that the education system has been severely weakened.
Comrade Jagdish Kuliyal alleged that government policies are increasingly being framed to benefit a select group of capitalists, while ordinary citizens continue to face growing economic and social pressures.
The CPI Uttarakhand State Secretary said that India’s social, political and economic situation is witnessing a worrying decline. He highlighted rising unemployment, weakening public education and healthcare services, repeated incidents of examination question-paper leaks, and the continued non-implementation of the women’s reservation law as major areas of concern.
Meanwhile, the CPI is holding a two-day meeting of its Central Committee, where strategies are being discussed on issues ranging from concerns surrounding students and examinations to ensuring that farmers receive fair prices for their crops.
