On a moving train, a railway officer shoots a senior and kills three other passengers.

Four individuals, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector, were shot dead by a member of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) early on Monday morning in Maharashtra near the Palghar railway station. He made an attempt to flee but was ultimately caught.

According to reports, the fire incident on board the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express (12956) resulted in four casualties, including the ASI. The defendant was taken into custody. DCP North GRP has been notified, according to the Railway Protection Force.

According to officials, the accused, RPF Constable Chetan Singh, opened fire with his official automatic weapon at around five in the morning, killing three passengers on the train travelling from Jaipur to Mumbai as well as another RPF comrade, his duty supervisor ASI Tika Ram Meena, and another RPF member.

Tika Ram Meena was a resident of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, and Chetan Singh is from the Uttar Pradesh town of Hathras.

Following the death of his superior, the constable entered another bogie and killed three passengers, according to reports from news agency PTI, which cited officials.

The RPF policeman pulled the link and exited the train close to Dahisar Station before opening fire inside the moving train after it had passed Palghar Station, according to the chief public relations officer for the railways. Police officers at Mira Road were assisted in their capture by members of the Government Railway Police and the RPF.

The occurrence took place in carriage B5.

About 100 kilometres separate Palghar from Mumbai.
