During a high-level Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received congratulations from his ministers on the success of Operation Sindoor, a precision military strike carried out by Indian armed forces. The operation targeted nine terror camps located across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which had claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
Sources reveal that PM Modi took a moment to brief his cabinet colleagues on the planning, execution, and aftermath of the operation. Describing it as a proud moment for the entire nation, the Prime Minister emphasized the strategic precision and restraint that defined the mission. “It’s a proud moment for all of us,” he stated, according to officials present in the meeting.
Following the strike, PM Modi also held separate high-level discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah to review the situation. These discussions came amid intelligence reports suggesting that more than 80 terrorists were neutralized in the pre-dawn airstrikes. Among the dead were reportedly ten close aides and family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) founder Masood Azhar.
Security officials highlighted that the most impactful strikes were carried out in Bahawalpur and Muridke, where 25–30 terrorists were eliminated at each location. In addition, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari tweeted that Hafiz Abdul Malik, a high-value Lashkar-e-Taiba target, was killed in a precision strike at Markaz Tayyeba in Muridke, Pakistan.
While the strike has triggered sharp reactions from Pakistan, India has firmly maintained that Operation Sindoor was a focused, non-escalatory measure solely intended to dismantle terror infrastructure threatening national security.
