CBSE Opens Final Correction Window for Student Data – Deadline April 17

With the CBSE board exam results just around the corner, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a crucial notification regarding corrections in student data. Schools have been given a final opportunity to rectify errors through a correction window that will remain open from April 9 to April 17, 2025. This move comes after the board noticed multiple instances of incorrect data submissions, despite issuing several reminders to schools.

During this correction window, schools will be allowed to make specific changes to candidate particulars. These include spelling errors in the names of students or their parents, interchange of parental names, uploading updated student photographs, corrections in gender, and adjustments to the date of birth—provided they align with the original documentation. Schools can also update details under the “single-child” field. However, it’s important to note that only minor corrections will be allowed in the names of the mother or father, and requests to change the category from General to OBC will not be accepted under any circumstances.

CBSE has made it clear that the data submitted during this correction window will be considered final. No further requests for changes will be entertained beyond the April 17 deadline. This finalized data will be used to prepare the mark sheets and result documents for each student, making it critical for schools to double-check and verify every entry.

processing fee of ₹1,000 per candidate will be charged for all regular students seeking corrections. This fee must be submitted by the respective schools to their designated regional CBSE offices. The board has emphasized that the spelling of the student’s name, along with those of the mother and father, as well as the date of birth, must exactly match the information recorded in the School Admission and Withdrawal Register.

This directive reflects CBSE’s continued efforts to maintain accuracy and transparency in student records, especially ahead of result processing. Schools are now fully accountable for ensuring all data is thoroughly verified and submitted on time to avoid discrepancies in the final mark sheets.
